PASTOR, BOWLING GREEN, OH

First Presbyterian of Bowling Green, Ohio seeks a full-time experienced pastor.

Our nearly 200-member church is located in the heart of Bowling Green, Ohio, a city of 30,000 and home to Bowling Green State University (BGSU).  It is an inviting community that provides a rich variety of educational, social, athletic, artistic, and employment opportunities to its citizens.  Our church is known for its vibrant and creative worship services, enriched by a remarkable music program [largely traditional, with choir and organ] that draws in part upon the talented staff and students of BGSU.  We have been a More Light Presbyterian church for over a dozen years. From the rainbow icon on our outdoor church sign to our up-front stance on equality and justice issues, FPC provides a fully open, inclusive, and affirming church setting. Many who have joined our church in recent years have cited our completely welcoming position as their reason for choosing to attend BG First Presbyterian.

We are known for our commitment to progressive social action and our downtown location facilitates our ability to offer space for several 12-step groups, a Latino advocacy organization that provides ESL classes among many other services, a day program for a group of developmentally disables adults,  and an alternative high school program for a small group of troubled teens who don’t function well in traditional classroom settings. For nearly 50 years we’ve also operated a no-fee shop offering clothing and household goods to people in need. To see the full range of our life and ministries, please visit www.firstpresbyterianbg.org , our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/FirstPresbyterianBG , or our First Presbyterian Church of Bowling Green Ohio YouTube channel.

Interested and qualified candidates can view our Ministry Information Form (MIF) at the PCUSA Church Leadership Connection and submit their Personal Information Form (PIF) there or send their information to Dar Bevelhymer (BG Presbyterian PNC Chair) at dbevelhymer@woh.rr.com and Dr. Matt Meinke (General Presbyter of Maumee Valley Presbytery) at gp@maumeevp.org.
