Meet our North Carolina Ambassadors!
Julie Lehman: Julie is on staff at Montreat Conference Center as the Director of the Montreat Fund and Major Gifts. She has been actively involved in social justice leadership in Presbyterian churches in the southeast for 27 years. She and her husband, Michael Poulos, studied theology at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA, where Julie is currently serving as president of the alumni council. Julie and Michael, have been LGBTQ allies in their church and community throughout their ministry. They are active at First Presbyterian Church of Asheville, where Michael serves as Associate Pastor. Over the past three years, they and their church and community have supported their second child through a gender transition. When they are not out marching, the family enjoys relaxing at home with their furry friends, Doby and Coco.
Lindsey Altvater Clifton: Lindsey serves Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Raleigh as their Faith Formation Minister. She is a native of Greensboro where she lives with her wife, Laura, and their sweet (goofy) dogs, Maggie and Harvey. She’s also member of Guilford Park Presbyterian and a candidate for ordination under care of Salem Presbytery. Lindsey is a graduate of Elon University and the School of Divinity at Wake Forest University. She is a former high school English teacher and a self-proclaimed nerd who enjoys hammocks, a good book, playing outside, Vietnamese iced coffee, laughing until it hurts, bike rides, board games, learning to play the ukulele, and writing liturgy.
Taylor Lewis Guthrie Hartman: Taylor serves Westminster Presbyterian Church in Durham, NC as the Associate Pastor for Youth Ministry. She’s been there since August 2011. Prior to that, she has served churches in Boston and Cambridge, The Academy of Preachers, and Montreat Conference Center in several different capacities. Taylor is a graduate of Washington University in St Louis and Harvard Divinity School. Her hobbies include film and digital photography, attempts at sewing, and fits and starts with yoga.
