Dear More Light Presbyterians,
The board and staff of More Light Presbyterians join with the multitudes of people lamenting the decision of the Supreme Court to reject the precedent set by Roe v Wade, therefore allowing states to criminalize abortion and other forms of reproductive health care.
We seek to act in solidarity with all people who have received abortions and who will need them in the present and future. Reproductive justice and LGBTQIA+ thriving are deeply intertwined, and attacks on the bodily autonomy of any person are inherently cruel and unacceptable as well as having far-reaching implications on all our bodies.
We invite and encourage the More Light community to view the video statement of sadness, anger, and frustration from our denominational leadership, Rev. Dr. J. Herbert Nelson, II, the Rev. Dr. Diane Moffett, and others [https://www.pcusa.org/news/2022/6/24/sadness-anger-frustration/], and to connect with SACReD (the Spiritual Alliance of Communities for Reproductive Dignity) to learn more and get involved in the work by people of faith striving for reproductive health care access for all. Learn more at sacreddignity.org or @sacred_repro on Instagram and Twitter.
Peace to you all,
The Board and Staff of More Light Presbyterians
