Mx. Kate Davoli (they/them)
Mx. Kate Davoli (they/them) has the honor of being the first person to have been dismissed from the ordination process of the Presbyterian Church (USA) for being openly polyamorous. Their Call remains, however, and Kate ministers to queer and ex-vangelical individuals and communities as an Elder, a lay preacher, a spiritual director, and a teacher of vocational discernment.
Kate earned their Master of Divinity degree at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and their preaching has been described as liberating, prophetic, and, the best of all compliments: queer. Currently they serve on the board of directors Juniper Formation’s Daily Ripple Ministry, the ecumenical collaborative LAMP: the LGBTQIA+ Affirming Ministries of Pittsburgh, as well as More Light Presbyterians.
The Discernment Compass process Kate created informs the decision-making of faith-based organizations nationwide and they are the author of two books on deciding things together: The Chairperson’s Toolbox and Group Discernment Bootcamp.
They live in Pittsburgh with their Spice (their wife of 19 years and their joint partner of 16 years), and the two younger of the three wonderful kids they are all raising together.
