You can make the case that Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church has quietly been a place where LGBTQIA+ people could worship and lead for decades, even generations. Our first “out loud” step occurred when our current pastor came out to the congregation in 2012. Encouraged by a grass roots movement of parents in our congregation, the Session voted to leave any ambiguity behind. We want this faith community and the community around us to know that MPC is a welcoming and affirming place to worship, lead, and be for all beloved children of God.
