We are grateful to be partners with many agencies around the country doing work for full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in the Church and in the world.

More Light has partnered with the agencies listed below in various capacities.

Presbyterian Youth Workers Association

Presbyterian Youth Workers Association is a national community of Presbyterian youth workers who are committed to developing and sustaining healthy youth ministry leaders. PYWA connects, upholds, and inspires youth workers through advocacy, networking opportunities, webinars, online meetups, email blasts, Bible studies, book clubs, seasonal idea sessions, and conversations with youth ministry experts. Though begun in the PC(USA), PYWA has expanded to include other Presbyterian denominations and Reformed congregations.

The Covenant Network of Presbyterians

The mission of The Covenant Network of Presbyterians is to strengthen the church of Jesus Christ, with the help of God’s grace. We are called to achieve this goal by working for the unity of the church, furthering the inclusion of LGBTQ persons, seeking understanding and reconciliation, and joining with others seeking a still more just and inclusive church.

More Light is excited to be a founding partner of the NC Faith Forward Coalition. Together with the organizing partners below, we have been working for change across North Carolina to impact change in our communities.

Many Voices: a Black Church Movement for Gay and Transgender Justice

As a Black church movement for gay and transgender justice, Many Voices envisions a community that embraces the diversity of the human family and ensures that all are treated with love, compassion, and justice. Black gay and transgender people are too often case studies in discrimination, shame, hardship, insecurity and isolation.

The Freedom Center for Social Justice (FCSJ)

The Freedom Center for Social Justice (FCSJ) is a culture-shifting organization committed to the growth, safety and empowerment of marginalized populations.  Our vision is a world where equal protections and opportunities exist for all. Through advocacy, community education, and faith-based organizing, we are committed to providing support that opens doors, raises awareness and creates life-giving change.

Faith in Public Life

Faith in Public Life (FPL) has played an important role in changing the narrative about the role of faith in politics, winning major progressive policy victories, and empowering new religious leaders to fight for social justice and the common good. Our media expertise, rapid-response capabilities and strategic campaign development have made us respected commentators in the media and valued partners with a range of religious groups working for economic and social justice. The timeline highlights some of our hallmark achievements as a strategy center for the faith community.

Equality North Carolina

Equality NC is dedicated to securing equal rights and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) North Carolinians.

The National LGBTQ Task Force

The National LGBTQ Task Force advances full freedom, justice and equality for LGBTQ people. We’re building a future where everyone is free to be themselves in every aspect of their lives. Today, despite all the progress we’ve made to end discrimination, millions of LGBTQ people face barriers in every aspect of their lives: in housing, employment, healthcare, retirement, and basic human rights. These barriers must go. That’s why the Task Force is training and mobilizing millions of activists across our nation to deliver a world where you can be you.
