Speaking of Christ: A Lesbian Feminist Voice, Carter Heyward
Speaking of Christ: A Lesbian Feminist Voice is a collection of “prose and homilies meant to evoke christological sensibilities–experiences, beliefs, and images of who or what “Christ” is, or may mean, for the reader” written between 1984-88. Her use of A lesbian feminist voice in the subtitle is a means of signaling to the reader her own location, and of “making visible particular dimensions of who I am which the dominant powers in the world and church would prefer to keep invisible.” The collection circles around her presentation of God as the power in relation.
