On this episode, Liberation Bible study host, Rev. Alex Patchin McNeill is joined by Rev. Bertram Johnson, as they discuss 1 Peter 4:12-14, 5:6-11 through the theme of anxiety.

 

Bertram is an Interfaith Minister providing spiritual care and direction for students at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. For over two decades Bertram has served churches, non-profits, and faith-based organizations dedicated to social justice, spiritual care, and public health. He has worked nationally in HIV/AIDS research education, promoting awareness and access among communities most disproportionately impacted by the virus. He also has years of experience directing support programs for people living with HIV, mental health concerns, addiction, and as chaplain for cancer patients.

Bertram is the first openly gay African American to be ordained as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church (USA). As a faith leader he seeks to help bridge the divide between faith in God with healing wounded spirits and communities through love and justice. He is a member of the NEXT Church Strategy Team and contributor to The Sarasota Statement. A native Floridian, he holds a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University.
